There’s something special about this moment. You're curious about fashion. You're ready to try something new. You’re looking for inspiration, community, and a little adventure.
So... is this your summer?
Fashions of Florence is walking through the birthplace of the Renaissance with your sketchbook in one hand and gelato in the other. It’s studying at one of Europe’s top fashion schools. It’s learning from industry professionals. It’s building your creativity and confidence.
It’s also about timing. You’re at a point in life where exploring your passions can shape your path. Trying things now can help you figure out what truly fits before you commit to years of study.
You don’t have to wait until college to start discovering who you are. This is your chance to test your interests, build new skills, and see what life in fashion really looks like. These experiences help you grow clearer in your goals and more confident in your direction.
Our group is growing and the final deadline is March 20th. If you’ve been thinking about it, this is your sign.
This is your summer.

Smart Things to Pack (That You’ll Actually Use)
Here are a few smart items that past students were glad they packed and why you might want to bring them too:
Crossbody Bag
Secure, hands-free, and perfect for busy walking days. Florence is a very walkable city, but you’ll want your essentials (like your phone, water, and wallet) close at hand, especially while walking in tourist heavy areas.
Sketchbook or iPad
Even if you don’t consider yourself an artist, you may be surprised by how much inspiration strikes in Florence. You’ll notice fashion everywhere, from shop windows and street style to handcrafted leather and textiles. Whether you use Procreate or a small paper sketchbook, both are great tools for capturing ideas as they come.
Stylish but Comfortable Shoes
You’ll be walking 15,000+ steps a day on cobblestones! Choose shoes that look good and feel good like lightweight, breathable sneakers or sandals that can handle long days on your feet in the summer heat.
Travel-Size Sunscreen/Hat
Florence summers are sunny and hot. You’ll be outdoors often, so sun protection is a must.
Journal
So many students say they loved writing down ideas, moments, or even lists of favorite cafes and fashion finds. Keeping a journal gives you a space to capture your thoughts, feelings, and small everyday moments so you can return to them long after the trip ends.
Reusable Water Bottle
Florence can get very hot in July, so a reusable water bottle is a must. You’ll be walking a lot, so staying hydrated is important. The school has a water station where you can refill your bottle with both still and sparkling water throughout the day.
Staying Safe While Exploring Florence
Florence is considered one of the safest cities in Italy and is a popular destination for students from around the world. The historic center is compact, walkable, and well populated throughout the day and evening.
That said, like any city with a large number of visitors, the most common issue in Florence is petty theft. These situations are easy to avoid with a few simple habits.
Stay aware of your belongings
Florence is generally very safe, but busy areas can attract pickpockets. Keep your bag zipped and in front of you, especially in crowded places like markets, museums, and public transportation.
Explore with friends
Students are required to move around the city in groups of at least two. Exploring together is not only safer, it also makes the experience more fun.
Take a photo of your passport
It is best to leave your passport safely in your room and keep a photo on your phone instead. This helps protect your most important travel document.
Be cautious with strangers offering help
If someone approaches you with an unexpected offer, such as tying a bracelet on your wrist or asking you to sign a petition, it is best to politely decline and keep walking.
Trust your instincts
If a situation feels uncomfortable, step away and move toward a busy public area. Florence is well populated and help is always nearby.
Stay connected with the group
Make sure your phone stays charged and that you regularly check the group chat for updates. Staying connected helps everyone stay organized, safe, and ensures you can easily be reached throughout the day.
What Students & Parents Are Asking
Is the flight included in the program fee?
No. Students are responsible for booking their own flights. However, airport pickup and drop-off at the Florence airport (FLR) are included on the official arrival and departure days.
Will this program help prepare me for fashion school?
Students work on creative exercises and a final project that can be included in their fashion portfolio. An admissions session will give students insight into what fashion schools look for in applicants and what studying fashion at the university level is really like.
Are students supervised, and can they leave the hotel on their own?
Students are supervised throughout the program by the Program Director and Resident Advisor, who are available 24/7. All activities and outings are organized and chaperoned. During free time, students may explore in small groups but are not allowed to leave the hotel alone.
What if I have allergies or dietary needs?
No problem. Many students have restrictions, and we work with both the hotel and local restaurants to make sure everyone is taken care of. Be sure to include all the details when you register.
What happens in case of a medical emergency?
In the event of a medical concern or emergency, staff will assist students immediately and coordinate with local medical services if needed. Florence has excellent healthcare facilities, and program staff will also contact parents or guardians if medical care is required.
How can parents stay updated during the program?
Parents will be invited to join a group chat where program updates and photos are shared throughout the trip so families can follow along with the experience.
